Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365 for outbound
December 4, 2025 · 9 min read
Google Workspace has the more forgiving reputation model for new domains and the simpler provisioning story, which is why most agencies default to it for the first few hundred mailboxes.
Microsoft 365 has an advantage when your prospects live inside Outlook. Same-ecosystem sending tends to clear filters more cleanly for enterprise recipients.
In practice, mature senders run both. Splitting identities across ecosystems means a reputation problem on one side does not stop your outbound entirely.
Cost differs in structure, not just amount. Google Workspace on zalamails is a flat $1.99 per mailbox per month at any volume; Microsoft 365 starts at $2.30 with volume tiers applied automatically.
Whichever you choose, the DNS work is identical and the failure modes are identical. Alignment and volume discipline decide your results far more than the vendor logo.
